How to use it
- Pick the same period for every app. A week works well. Use the earnings, hours online and miles from each app or from your own records.
- Type a name for each app (optional) so the table is easy to read.
- Read the profit per hour. The best column is highlighted. Look at profit per mile too: a job with long drives can look good until you count the miles.
With the starting values, App B leaves about $13.35 an hour after vehicle costs, App A about $7.82 and App C about $6.63. They are example numbers, not an average for any real app.
What to keep in mind
Profit per hour does not show everything. Consider how steady the orders are, the wear on your car and the time you spend waiting. If you track your trips, the earnings calculator and the mileage log give you the numbers to compare.
Frequently asked questions
Which vehicle cost per mile should I use?
The IRS standard mileage rate is a simple starting point because it covers gas, repairs, insurance and wear together. If you want to see gas only, divide your gas price by your miles per gallon.
Do the results include the tax I owe?
The tax row shows your pay per hour after setting aside the percentage you choose. It is a rough guide, not tax advice. Talk to a tax professional about your situation.
